If you’ve planned a break in the Cotswolds then you’re probably heading this way for some rest and relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and you will find just that. There are so many spots to get some head space and a little peace and quiet, there are endless walking trails you can take where you may only see sheep for the duration and there are blissful country pubs to head to to sit infront of the fire and sip a nice glass of vino. But if you do have a penchant for shopping and the idea of browsing boutiques and making some lovely purchases fits well with your holiday goals, then have a read about the best places to go shopping in the Cotswolds.

Cheltenham

Cheltenham is a beautiful, affluent town which offers great shopping. You’ll find all of the usual high street favorites and as you head up the promenade the shops seem to become more elegant (and more expensive I’m sorry to say) until you reach Montpelier where you’ll find one or two names that you recognize but otherwise, it’s filled with gorgeous one-off boutique stores.

There really is something for everybody in Cheltenham, and just to add a new John Lewis is currently being built right in the town center which is also a little bonus!

Cirencester

If you much prefer to get away from the high street, chain-type stores then you are going to love Cirencester with its abundance of independent shops and boutiques. Head to the Stableyard for a mooch and don’t miss the Brewery Arts Centre showcasing British craftmakers. The Corn Hall on Market Places has some lovely stylish stores too.

Stroud

Stroud is a foodies paradise hosting a brilliant farmers market every weekend that takes over the town and is bustling with gorgeous food and craft-type stands. Stroud attracts the more bohemian crowd and has wonderful vintage stores, record stores, and vegetarian and vegan eateries, and is a really pretty town to wander around.

Woodstock

Woodstock (home to Blenheim Palace) is a lovely little town to browse around with some fantastic art galleries and antique stores. Think arty shops over clothes and just mooch about taking in the sights of this lovely town.

Tetbury

Tetbury is definitely a must-see, aside from the lovely shopping that it offers it’s such a beautiful town with picturesque little roads everywhere you look. There are a whole host of antique shops here so if that’s your thing then you’ll be very pleased and these sit nicely alongside boutique-type gift shops and gorgeous Cotswold pubs and restaurants.

The Daylesford

The Daylesford is an award-winning organic farm and farm shop full of beautiful gifts, amazing produce, and a cafe that serves some simply delicious food that will definitely tempt your taste buds. If you have an hour or two spares then head this way for some lunch and a mooch around the shop, we guarantee you won’t be leaving empty-handed!
