The Cotswolds has some beautiful places to eat out and exquisite locally produced food to offer. Each town has its own offering of gorgeous traditional country pubs, upmarket restaurants and hotels, old-school tea rooms, and cafes galore. So if you’re feeling peckish and want to eat; something great in a superb location, then you will find a lot of places to choose from and we’ve selected our favourites below.

 

Le Champignon Sauvage, Cheltenham

This gorgeous small and elegant restaurant tucked away in the Suffloks in Cheltenham serves up French dishes created by multi-award-winning chef David Everitt-Matthias. With two Michelin stars (a rare find throughout the country) you will be dazzled by the food on offer here.

 

Wild Rabbit, Kingham 

The Wild Rabbit in Kingham is a beautiful-looking English pub from the outside in. You’ll be lured in by the lovely outside eating space and the Wisteria climbing the walls, and you won’t be disappointed. If you like to eat out in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere that doesn’t compromise on its food then you’ll love the Wild Rabbit. Serving locally sourced, seasonal food that tastes amazing, the restaurant has won awards for its beautiful British cooking with a contemporary twist.

 

The Garden Room, Dormy House, Broadway

Dormy House Hotel is a stunning, contemporary, Scandanavian-styled hotel and restaurant on Broadway in the heart of the Cotswolds. The Garden Room is light and lovely, looking out into the gardens with the doors wide open during the warmer months. Eat out here and choose from a five or seven-course menu full of amazing flavor combinations and surprises.

 

The Feathered Nest, Nether Westcote

Overlooking the beautiful Cotswold valleys this is a place to eat out with a view. Yet it’s not all about the scenery, the restaurant serves exquisite dishes from their locally sourced menu. Originally the old Malt House and now a warm and welcoming restaurant and hotel, you’ll find a lovely place to eat out and choose a warm summer’s evening and the garden will be an absolute treat.

 

Malt Restaurant, Cowley Manor, Gloucestershire

The gorgeous Malt Restaurant at Cowley Manor Hotel and Spa is all about sharing great food with good company and offers grazing plates, pizzas, lighter dishes, and heartier meals, all to get stuck into with friends and family, chit-chat and wine. The focus here is on sustainability and innovation and celebrates England’s eccentric culinary influences. The restaurant is inviting and full of character and is a gorgeous place to eat out.

The Restaurant, Ellenborough Park

Ellenborough Park is a stunning luxury hotel on the outskirts of Cheltenham with views out over the countryside and hills. The restaurant here is a great choice to eat out in, with modern British influences and impeccable service, seasonal dishes, and culinary delights, it deserves its place on this list.

 

Lower Slaughter Manor

If you’re looking to eat out in style then this chic restaurant is for you. Think chocolate brown silk walls, Murano crystal, Ocean Blue chandeliers, and an intimate dining expereince. If you are heading here with a small party (up to 14) then book the chapel, it is just lovely. Celebrating the finest produce the Cotswolds has to offer using regionally sourced and freshly foraged ingredients, you will love it here.
